September 8, 2023Hello Saint Ann School Families and Teachers!Can you believe the first week of school is almost done already?? We hope all of your students have had a fun start to the school year and enjoyed getting to know their teachers and classmates.Thank you to everyone who attended and volunteered at our End of Summer Picnic. We had a fantastic turnout and some great helpers who made the night such a success. We hope you all enjoyed it. Attached, find our monthly newsletter. Read on for lots of fun PTA updates and events!If you haven't heard, the new cafeteria tables are in and it has added so many additional seats for our kids. With your fundraising help at the end of the last school year, the PTA was able to fund the new cafeteria tables for the school!New PTA Social Programs ChairsWe would like to give a warm welcome to our new Social Programs Chairs who have graciously offered to take on this very important role. Jessica George and Maureen Dileo will be joining our board and we couldn't be more excited!Event ChairsWe have several events and fundraisers that cannot run without the support of chairs to help oversee them. Individual events and fundraising chairs have the guidance from the appropriate PTA Board Member to make the event a success. Red Berry is a delicious frozen yogurt and smoothie bar with lots of amazing toppings to choose from. Plus our school will earn 15% when you mention that you are there to support SAS! Click here for more information!Parent's Day Out at AR WorkshopThe last day to register for the RA Workshop is FRIDAY September 7th at 6:00pm!! Come join us Sunday September 10th from 1:00-4:00pm for a DIY class to make one of many Wood Projects at AR Workshop West Windsor! Choose from Signs, Trays, Boxes, Frames & More! You will earn 10% towards your financial commitment. Get your decor out of the way by ordering mums and cornstalks, while supporting our PTA. Orders are due by 9/12/23 and you will earn $2 per item purchased towards your financial commitment. Doors open at 6:00pm and games begin at 7:00pm. Grab some friends and play the night away or knock off some volunteer hours by helping us out! This is one of our most profitable fundraisers of the year and draws a large crowd from outside of school families. Help others as you help yourself! We accept clothing, bedding, stuffed animals, hats, linens, belts, and shoes! Every student who brings a bag of clothes to donate will receive a free dress down pass. The sessions will be 10 minutes long and guarantees you 3-5 edited images of your choice with full printing rights. Sessions are $125 each and Sevtlana is donating $75 of each session to the PTA. So, you will earn $75 financial commitment. These sessions typically cost $350+, so this is a steal. Charleston WrapOne of our biggest fundraisers of the year is with Charleston Wrap! Not only do they have adorably cute wrapping paper, but they also carry a variety of other gift options like: candles, totes, kitchenwares, purses, candy, and more. While this fundraiser officially runs in November, you are able to order online starting now. Ordering early will help to minimize the risk of items you want from selling out. You will still earn 30-40% financial commitment on all orders starting now. Click here for more information and the registration code!Important DeadlinesVirtus TrainingA requirement of volunteering within the school or at school sponsored events (think Room Parents, Ice Cream Social, Field Trips, etc) that do not involve parents is being Virtus Certified. We are fortunate to be able to offer a workshop on Saturday September 9th at 9:00am. Click here to register, using the instructions on Page 4 of the Virtus Packet. This will be the only time this year the class is offered, so don't delay!Pretzel DayA longstanding tradition at St Ann's are the beloved pretzel days! Sign your student up and one day per month they will receive a warm Philly Pretzel and drink for a snack, instead of packing their own! All pretzels MUST BE preordered. There will not be any extra pretzels ordered. Orders are due by 9/15/23. Click here for the rules and more info!Room ParentsWe are still in need of Room Parents for Kindergarten, 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 7th Grade. Being a room parent is a fun way to be involved in your child's class! You will really get to know their friends and watch them interact in their classroom. If you would like to be a room parent, please complete and return your form ASAP to [email protected].Athletic UpdatesCYOWe have a great opportunity for our children to participate in CYO Athletics including: cross country, basketball, cheerleading, and soccer. This program cannot run without the generosity of volunteer coaches. If you or someone you know is interested in coaching or you want more info about CYO, click here!Supporting Area Schools (Notre Dame High School and Rider University)We have been invited by Notre Dame to cheer them on at their Home Opener for football on Thursday September 14th. If you would like to support them, be sure to RSVP here!Rider University has also invited our students to any of their various athletic competitions. Their fall events are free to attend. Click here for their schedule!PTA CommunicationBulletin BoardBe sure to check out our PTA Bulletin Board that can be found outside the first classroom as you enter the school. This Bulletin Board will hold flyers for all of our events and fundraisers throughout the year. While we are paperless and prefer to send the majority of our communication electronically, we will be supplying a limited number of forms for events and fundraisers at the bulletin board. If you are unable to print a form or forget it at the last minute, you (or your child) may take one provided in the folders at the bulletin board!Weekly TextIf you have not signed up for our PTA text alerts, be sure to do so.
