COVID-19: INFORMATION FOR QUARANTINE WHEN NECESSARY
According to the newest guidelines, as provided by the Lawrence Township Nurse today:
If a household member has tested positive: If the positive individual is isolated from the rest of the family, including the student, the child would quarantine for 10 days and be tested or 14 days without a test. The child can return with a negative test result, taken day 10 or later.
If they have any contact at home with the individual who tested positive:Quarantine starts after the individual in the home who tested positive has completed their quarantine (10 days) and then they would follow the additional 10 or 14 days of quarantine. This means most students will have a 20-24 day quarantine. Again a negative test is required.
If a student needs to quarantine due to a positive COVID-19 case in their household we will provide remote learning. This is only provided with confirmed cases and will not be offered under any other circumstances.
SAMPLE TIMEFRAME:
Parent tests positive today (9/20)
Parent isolates until 9/30
If no contact during isolation – start quarantine on the 20th and go 14 days without a test or 10 days and a test.
If not able to completely self-isolate from the household member:
Student quarantine would start on the 30th and 14 days from then would be October 14 and 10 days with a negative test would be October 10.
Please note the requirements are ever-evolving and we will keep you informed as we are given updated information.
