Hello! I’m Hayley Wolford-Grabowski, but my students know me as Mrs. Grabowski. This is my sixth year teaching third grade at SAS. Prior to teaching third grade, I taught 5th-grade social studies, math, and ILA in addition to teaching 6th-grade ILA & math at SAS. In the past, I've also taught 2nd, 1st, and Kindergarten.
This is my tenth year at St. Ann School, however, I have taught and tutored students ages 2-8th grade.
I currently hold two certifications in elementary education and teaching English as a second language. I have a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Marketing from Villanova University, a Master of Arts in Teaching with a concentration in Elementary Education from the University of Southern California, and a Master of Education in Teaching English as a Second Language from The College of New Jersey.
I live at home with my husband, one young son, and one small dog. Family is a big part of my life! In my free time, I enjoy reading, exploring historical sites, going to the beach, skiing, exercising, hiking, visiting friends, and spending time with family.
If you have any questions you may reach me at [email protected]

Homework
Students are expected to write their homework in their homework book which is kept in their accordion folder. Parents should check the homework book every night to make sure all homework is complete. Students will place any homework papers and worksheets in their accordion folder which is labeled by subject. Homework is to be done on the night it is assigned. Unless there is a project, long-term assignment, incomplete work, or studying for a test you can expect to have the weekend off from homework to enjoy time with family. Nightly homework usually consists of spelling, math, and vocabulary. Occasionally students will have social studies, science, and religion homework.
Spelling & Vocabulary
Spelling words will be written in the language arts (ILA) notebook. Spelling homework will consist of monthly tic-tac-toe activities and sentences. On Monday students are expected to complete one activity from the tic-tac-toe board in their notebook, Tuesday and Wednesday students are expected to use one spelling word in five sentences each night. If pictures are taken please staple, tape, or glue them to the page and write the date. For each activity, the date should be written at the top. The page can be divided so that multiple activities are on one page. Thursday night students are expected to study their spelling and vocabulary words. The tic-tac-toe activities will change monthly and will be in their accordion folder. Vocabulary words will be written with the definitions in their notebooks. Please study these nightly with your child so they are prepared for Friday's test. It is also recommended that your child read nightly so they can strengthen their reading comprehension.
Math
Math will consist of a workbook page that will be sent home in the math section of their accordion folders. Review guides will be completed and reviewed before each test.
Science, Social Studies, and Religion
Religion, Social Studies, and Science homework will be given periodically. Look for study guides, homework, and other work to come home in their accordion folder. For each religion quiz and test please visit the Loyola Press website below to play review games.
