Hello to all my wand-erful SAS families. I'm very excited to be working with your children once again this year. I am a graduate of TESU and NPTNJ program. I began teaching Technology and Media at St. Mary School in Bordentown in 2003 and taught there for 10 years. When the school was closed, I taught Tech at St. Paul School-Burlington, and then 5th grade at St. Charles Borromeo-Cinnaminson, 4th grade at SAS for three years, 3rd grade for 1 year, and Technology/STREAM last year. I am extremely blessed with three children. My son is beginning his graduate courses for Chiropractic at Life University in Georgia, my eldest daughter is a Junior at Kean University where she is majoring in Fine Arts/Art Therapy, and my youngest daughter is a Freshman at RCBC majoring in Education. I am very proud of their accomplishments and can't believe just how quickly they have grown. If you ever need to contact me, please feel free to email me at kmeyer@st-ann-school.org.
This is going to be a very exciting year. Our classroom theme, Harry Potter "Books! And cleverness. There are far more important things friendship and bravery.", is in full swing throughout our room. We still have our class pet named Beary Potter who gets to go home each weekend with one of my fifth graders. Beary has traveled all over the East Coast. I'm a little jealous of all his travels over the years. The student of the week gets to journal all that they do with Beary while he is staying with them. Beary has his very own bed, clothing, and a replica of Hogwarts made by some of my former students. He is well-loved and taken care of every year. We will read the fourth book from the Harry Potter series - The Goblet of Fire while my 6th grader ILA class will begin with HP and the Sorcerers Stone. I'm very excited to read these with both the 5th and 6th grades and bring our theme to life. Believe it or not, one year my 4th graders read more than halfway through the 4th book. It was amazing.
Our Specials Schedule for this year is daily from 1:35-2:15

Art - Tuesday
Spanish - Wednesday

I firmly believe that "teachers who love teaching teach children to love learning" and that is what I hope to bring to all the kids. Not many people can say they love their job; however, I am one of them. I want them to become strong, independent people who will always be curious and think outside the box.
The link listed below is a Webmix where the students can find many Web Sites we use in class...https://www.symbaloo.com/shared/AAAAASBsz9MAA41-4KE0Ww==
There are several math sites that I recommend to supplement their learning as well: www.khanacademy.com and www.aaamath.com.
Of course, there are also a few sites that I recommend for science. They are as follows: http://www.sciencebuddies.org and https://www.sciencefaircentral.com/. Check them out.
