Mrs. Daniel's Rainbow Trout's tank is getting some TLC from 5th graders. The trout are getting big, which means they are eating more and producing more waste in the tank. As a result, our students supervised by Mrs. Daniel do weekly partial water changes to remove excess fish waste to keep the water clean for our fish friends. The Rainbow Trout "Trout in the classroom" program was started by Mrs. Daniel in 2017. Trout eggs are given to our school by the Pequest Trout Hatchery at the beginning of the school year. Mrs. Daniels and her students take care of the trout and monitor their development. The trout will be released later on in the Spring at the Allaire State Park in Mingamahone Brook.
