The goal of her program is to introduce our students PreK-8 to the Spanish language and culture and to enable communication at the beginner level of the language. Dr. Coppola, a hydrologist, and Alumnus of Saint Ann came to speak to our 7th and 8th graders about water resources and the effects of both human activities and climate change on their abundance and quality. He presented case studies for water-related problems in areas where he has worked, including North America, Latin America, Asia, Africa, and Europe. At the conclusion of his talk, he offered ways in which we can all help to reduce some common water problems.
The Diocese of Trenton is now accepting submissions for its 2018-19 Respect Life Poster, Essay and Photo-Meme Contest, open to students in kindergarten through eighth grade. This year’s respect life theme is, "Every Life: Cherished, Chosen, Sent." All submissions must be received no later than Dec. 21. On Thursday, Oct. 11 Saint Ann students were among the 700 who gather with Bishop O'Connell at St. Robert Bellarmine Co-Cathedral in Freehold to celebrate the Diocese annual Catholic School Mass.
Due to the upcoming Book Fair, no library books will be checked out during class library visits. If your child has a book please return it to the library before Oct. 22. We hope to have all books in before the Book Fair begins.
As a lifelong scientist and learner, Mrs. Daniel is the science coordinator and science teacher for our students in grades 5-8. Meet Watson, the Green Cheek Conure . Students in 5th grade are learning about vertebrates, invertebrates, and how scientists classify organisms, so what better way to get students interested in Kingdom Animalia than in interacting with vertebrates (other than humans) at school!
Meet Mrs. Bickham! Jennifer Bickham has been teaching Kindergarten at Saint Ann's for 8 years. She is certified in Responsive Classroom system of positive classroom management & she is currently working on gaining a new certification through the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators, an approach to reading that meets the needs of many different kinds of learners.
